Phase I Indoor Air Quality Investigation

Phase I Indoor Air Quality Investigation

Overview

When occupants report headaches, respiratory irritation, or persistent odors, the cause is rarely obvious from a walkthrough. Indoor environments are affected by a combination of factors that interact with one another. In Puerto Rico’s tropical climate, humidity accelerates nearly all of them.

Conditions we evaluate include:

  • Ventilation adequacy and air exchange rates
  • Excess humidity and moisture intrusion
  • Microbial growth and biological contaminants
  • Airborne particulates
  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Chemical contaminants
  • Temperature and comfort parameters

Our Phase I Indoor Air Quality Investigation delivers a thorough assessment of indoor environmental conditions to identify concerns before they become larger problems. We combine detailed site inspection with comprehensive testing, evaluating conditions against recognized standards including ASHRAE 62.1, and document what we find in a report you can act on.

The findings give building owners, facility managers, and employers a factual basis for decision-making, whether the next step is remediation, ventilation modification, or an ongoing indoor air quality management program. IEC is affiliated with ACGIH, AIHA, and ASHRAE, and has assessed indoor environments across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean for over 20 years.
